The Santa Clara Valley Water District wishes our neighbors and their families a very happy holiday season and prosperous 2019!
Contractors for the Reliability Improvement Project at the Rinconada Water Treatment Plant will not be working Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1. In fact, there will not be any active construction or truck traffic related to the project on those three days.
The new year will bring several milestones on the project.
In summer 2019, the water district expects to complete the current work on Phase 2 for the project and launch Phase 3 later in the year. The project team describes the third phase as the most challenging of the overall project since it will involve the demolition of the four existing clarifiers. These 18 to 20 feet deep tanks are where particles are removed from the water. Planning for a February neighborhood meeting at the treatment plant is underway to review the project’s progress and noise and traffic impacts for the neighborhood that will come in the third phase.
By popular demand, the RWTP will hold another open house in May to highlight Infrastructure Week (May 13-20, 2019), which encourages a national discussion about the need to rebuild and strengthen our facilities and infrastructure across the country. Tour space will be limited so keep an eye out for more information on how to RSVP since the last open house in June sold out and drew nearly 150 people.
As always, contact the treatment plant’s neighborhood liaison, Public Information Representative Tony Mercado, at any time to help address concerns or answer questions. Reach him during business hours at 408-630-2342 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your continued patience as the district works on this project that will help keep your water safe and reliable.
See you in 2019!
