Here’s a good indication just how big of an effort the Reliability Improvement Project really is. The Rinconada Water Treatment Plant just installed a primary coagulant side stream injection pipe past the ozone contactor. In simpler terms, this is where the alum and other chemicals are injected to start the flocculation and sedimentation process. The pipe is about 72 inches tall, 40 feet long and weighs several tons!
