The landscape of the neighborhood is about to get a lot more open this week as the water district’s contractors begin to relocate the towering 200-foot high crawler crane from where the flocculation sedimentation basins and ozone contactors are going up to the area near the new 9,600-square foot washwater recovery facility.
On Thursday, July 28, Balfour Beatty will disassemble the crane before relying on about nine truckloads to move the components on Friday, July 29. The trucks will exit the lower More Avenue gate between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and adhere to town of Los Gatos and water district rules as they head onto Wedgewood Avenue to re-enter the plant through the Granada Avenue gate. Crane reassembly will take place Saturday, July 30 beginning at 9 a.m.
The water district is moving the crane to help with pipeline installation of the new ozone contactor structure. From this new location, the crane will be less obtrusive to landscape views.
Please contact the district’s neighborhood liaison Tony Mercado at 408-426-1039 or via email at email@example.com to report concerns so that the water district can take appropriate action.
