This Thursday, Sept. 24, one of the largest heavy equipment pieces on the Reliability Improvement Project will arrive at the water treatment plant.
Balfour-Beatty, the district’s contractor, will deliver a 200-foot crawler crane to the site via More Avenue to the lower gate entrance. A crawler is a crane mounted on an undercarriage with a set of tracks that provide stability and mobility, allowing them to move around on site rather easily.
Crews will utilize the crane for large diameter pipe installations and other work that will take place over the next year. The initial delivery of the equipment will begin around 9 a.m.
